New York-New York Hotel & Casino
460 million dollars 2,033 rooms

Cleo Design of Las Vegas, Nevada, recently partnered with MGM MIRAGE to complete a magnificent renovation of the the Greatest City in Las Vegas the New York-New York Hotel and Casino. Formerly brandishing hard-edged, high impact, Art Deco styled imagery by world-renowned artist Tamara de Lempicka, the design team wanted a softer, more elegant and contemporary feel this time around for the 2,033 unique guestrooms. Cleo Design engaged Graphic Encounter to help them find imagery in a floral/botanical theme that could integrate beautifully with the surrounding environment and experience Cleos team was envisioning.
Graphic Encounters team of talented art consultants gave careful consideration to the task at hand. After reviewing the options, they recommended the design team use original photography from Michael Mandolfo, an artist with whom Graphic Encounter has had a long-standing relationship. The folks at Cleo Design responded favorably to Graphic Encounters suggestion and from that point Graphic Encounters consultants worked closely with Mr. Mandolfo to create a sample set of images and framing schemas for the design teams review. Upon the design teams approval of the framed samples, the project went into full production. First, Graphic Encounter coordinated with Mr. Mandolfo to publish fine quality prints of the photographs for each of the Hotels guestrooms. Next Graphic Encounter imported large quantities of specialty moulding from Indonesia and handled the custom-framing of each piece in their state of the art production facility in Southern California. Production went smoothly and Graphic Encounter met the requirement of shipping artwork to furnish one floor of the hotel each week. All team members on the project were pleased with the result and enjoyed working with a company that helped them realize their design vision, ensured smooth, efficient project management, and delivered the highest quality products on time and within budget.
