About Hanne Væringsaasen
I'm an artist from Norway, trained in visual art with a master's degree in art and design. In addition, I am also a trained art therapist. For me, art is a necessity of life. Art clarifies the world around us, it enlarges and opens our senses and allows us insights. Based on this philosophy, I like to express myself through various media such as oil and acrylic painting, photography and mixed media. I've worked out of my studio since the 1990s, participated in a multitude of exhibitions, I've had art commissions for Trondheim Municipality in Norway as well as having sold artworks to several companies.
The technique I use in my mixed media is an amalgam of photography, drawing and new media, all elements made by me. In this particular artistic expression I combine photographs I have shot with hand or digitally drawn elements, as well as other media such as watercolors or other paintings I've made in advance. I gradually transform my photographs into a new artistic expression that makes the artwork unique.
With my heritage from Norway, I create art that speaks to modern man's dual nature where city life merges with nature, bringing out the hidden emotional landscapes.
